Sometimes I need to set a work aside until it feels right again, until I have grown enough to come back to it with a fresh approach. I began Meander by weaving a long strip of cotton, linen and copper stripes back in 2022, but I wasn’t sure how it was meant to be once I cut it off the loom… In late 2025, I finally picked it up again. After folding and arranging the strip, I began adding small woven darns with sashiko cotton to hold the parallel lines together, almost as if it had been mended, and the work felt at last whole.
Woven on Janet, my small table loom, in 2022; completed in December 2025
