Palmiet Driftwood is a collection of driftwood gathered on the banks of the Palmiet river while on a camping trip. I carefully sorted and organised them before weaving them together with a narrow strip of fabric. I hand wove the strip in one long length of second hand linen and copper (to help give the weave structure to hold everything in place), almost like a ribbon. I love the idea of weaving a narrow piece of fabric and then re weaving it on a larger scale – a lovely mise en abîme.
Woven on Janet, my small table loom, in March 2025
Materials: found driftwood, linen, copper
