Skipping Stones

R2,300

A freeform patchwork made from leftover pieces of handwoven fabric in various stripes, alternating darker brown cotton with natural cream cotton and linen with a bit of copper to form a larger checkerboard cloth – a process which merges my interest in weaving, patchwork and mending. I feel there is a true harmony and balance in my work when I am able to blend all these mediums. Patchwork has become a large part of my studio work, as it is a beautifully sustainable way to make something complete from scraps that might otherwise be discarded.

The sides are left unhemmed, and the piece is mounted onto an acid free cream board and displayed in a brass second hand frame (included).
