Using either patch repair, woven darning, or swiss darning, I create mends that honour the way we wear (and wear out) our clothing.
Mending by hand is a time consuming practice – I usually fix items for friends and family, but if you have a garment you’d like to have mended, please get in touch via email (lucie@sofarstudio.co.za)
Please send a few photos of the damaged area, as well as approximate dimensions and description of the garment (ex: jeans, hole in the knee, 100% cotton). I’ll get back to you with repair suggestions and examples, as well as an estimate for my time.
I charge 350 rand per hour.
